Preventive Care | It Pays to Take Care of Yourself
Preventive care screening services are covered at 100% under your Pearson-sponsored medical plan. Screenings such as well woman exams, mammograms, colonoscopies, PSA tests, as well as your annual physical, are all covered with no out-of-pocket cost to you, as long as you use in-network providers.
The Aviva Digital GP Service allows you to conveniently access GP video consultations from the comfort of your own home or even when on the go. The benefits of this service include unlimited GP video consultations, the ability to choose your preferred GP, access for your children under the age of 16 and numerous other advantages.

Employee Stock Purchase Plan | Deadline to Enroll is December 15
As a reminder, we are changing our employee share plan service administrator from Computershare to Fidelity. Fidelity will manage all of Pearson's share plans—discretionary (e.g., LTIP, MIP), Save For Shares (SFS), and ESPP—from one online portal. The January 2024 to June 2024 Offering Period will be your first time enrolling for ESPP through Fidelity NetBenefits®. You have until December 15 (11:59 p.m. Eastern) to enroll in the January 2024 to June 2024 Offering Period. When you join the ESPP, you elect to contribute some of your pay to purchase shares of Pearson stock at a 15% discount using the total amount you’ve contributed. The discount will be applied to the closing stock price on the first day or last day of the six-month Offering Period — whichever is lower. To enroll, visit Fidelity NetBenefits® and follow the enrollment steps.
Flexible Spending Accounts | Use It or Lose It!
Please be reminded that funds in the Health Care and Dependent Day Care Flexible Spending Accounts do not carry over into the New Year. You forfeit any funds in your account(s) that you do not use during 2023. And keep your receipts. The IRS requires you to keep documentation associated with reimbursements from your Flexible Spending Accounts.
401(k) Basics | 2024 IRS Limits
The IRS has announced new limits for 2024. You can make pre-tax and/or Roth contributions to the 401(k) Plan during the year up to these limits (there are no limits on after-tax contributions). Contributions made by Pearson do not count toward the annual contribution and compensation limits which for 2024 are:
  • Contribution Limit — $23,000
  • Compensation Limit — $345,000
Catch-Up Contribution Limit (age 50 and above) — If you attain age 50 anytime during the 2024 calendar year, you may contribute an additional $7,500. While catch-up contributions are not eligible for the employer match, it is a good idea to take advantage of this additional savings opportunity.
