Good News from the IRS

As a reminder, the Internal Revenue increased contribution amounts for both 401(k) plans and Health Savings Accounts (HSA) for 2020:

  • $3,550 for employee-only coverage which includes Pearson’s $500 contribution
  • $7,100 for family coverage which includes Pearson’s $1,000 contribution
  • The 401(k) limit for 2020 is $19,500

Growing older has its advantages!

  • If you are 50 or older in the calendar year 2020, you qualify to make elective catch-up 401(k) contributions. For 2020, this amount has increased to $6,500.
  • If you are over age 55, you can contribute an extra $1,000 to your HSA beyond the limits above for calendar year 2020.
