Amazon recently announced that customers can now use their Health Savings Account (HSA) Card and Health Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Card when shopping for eligible healthcare items. You no longer have to pay for your order on Amazon using another method and then submit a receipt for reimbursement later.
The online retailer has created a section on their website explaining this new purchasing option with important FAQ’s and information including:
- Products considered eligible expenses
- Over-the-Counter medications require a prescription to be HSA/FSA eligible and this feature is not currently offered by Amazon
- Registering your HSA/FSA card on Amazon
Whether it is on Amazon or through another vendor, enjoy the convenience of using your HSA/FSA Card and how easy it is to keep track of your account. Log in to the Pearson Benefits Marketplace (click on “Your Savings and Spending Accounts” on the left navigation bar) to view your balance, submit claims and more.
Remember: The IRS requires you to keep documentation associated with reimbursement from your FSA and HSA. Make sure you keep copies of all invoices, receipts and claim forms as you might be required to produce them in the event you are asked to verify a claim by the administrator or are audited by the IRS.
Tip: While shopping on Amazon, look for the label “FSA or HSA Eligible” on the product page.
