Filing a Claim for
Leave of Absence

Pearson offers various Leaves of Absence to give you peace of mind when you need to take time away from work to care for yourself or to care for others. Lincoln Financial is Pearson’s leave of absence administrator. To file a claim for one of the following, please contact Lincoln Financial at 1-800-213-7327:

  • Disability
  • FMLA (Family Medical Leave)
  • Parental Leave
  • Some State Leaves (such as NJ, NY, MA)

Note: Serious Illness in the Family Leave (SIL)

To open a claim for this leave, you must first file an FMLA claim with Lincoln. After you have filed the FMLA claim and received Lincoln’s determination letter, raise a ticket via myHelp with the dates you are taking for SIL. In addition, include a copy of your determination letter from Lincoln (even if it’s a denial) with your myHelp ticket. This process will ensure you are paid accurately for the time you are taking for Serious Illness in the Family Leave.
