Introducing the AIM program for
Anthem users

Costs for imaging services, such as CT scans and MRIs, can vary from $300 to $3,000. And higher cost does not mean higher quality.
Anthem members who share the costs of imaging services in the form of coinsurance may pay hundreds of dollars more depending on which provider they use. The new AIM Program was designed to help members avoid paying more than necessary for high-quality imaging services. There is no penalty if you choose not to go with Anthem’s suggested provider.
Here’s how it works:
-
Your doctor will refer you to an imaging provider
-
When Anthem receives notification, they will check to see if the provider is the most cost-effective, quality choice in your area
-
An Anthem Health Outreach Specialist will get in touch with you to let you know if there is a lower-cost quality choice nearby
-
You then have the choice of which provider to use: your doctor’s referral or one of the providers Anthem suggests
Please Note: All Anthem members will receive a new membership card with the High Tech Imaging number on the back of the card.
